Dear Fort Zumwalt Families,
We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. As you might be aware, building leadership skills is important for our students. Over the next two weeks, students grades 3 - 12 and all K - 12 teachers will participate in several exercises to better understand these concepts and to reflect on how they perceive these skills in themselves.
If you have a student(s) grades 3 - 12, we will be asking them to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning via an online survey they will be completing while at school. The survey shouldn’t take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.
The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on how they feel about their learning behaviors and their school community. Specific topics will include: Growth Mindset, Self Management, Social Awareness, Self Efficacy, School Climate, Teacher-Student Relationships, Sense of Belonging, and School Safety.
We are asking that all of our students participate in the surveys, as their responses will provide valuable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. A copy of the questions is attached. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to these surveys will be completely confidential.
If you have any questions about the surveys, or would like your student(s) to opt out, please feel free to contact me Wayne Dierker (principal) at wdierker@fz.k12.mo.us. Specifically at Rock Creek, we will administer these in technology class.
