Leaders

๐ŸŒ… Morning Meetings at Rock Creek! ๐ŸŒ…

Every morning at Rock Creek, our students and teachers begin the day with a 15-minute Morning Meeting โ€” a time dedicated to learning the Leader in Me Habits, building classroom community and connections, and strengthening the skills that help us succeed in any setting. ๐Ÿ’ชโœจ

This week, Mrs. Beseauโ€™s 4th graders focused on conflict resolution, learning how to work through challenges with respect and teamwork. Meanwhile, Mrs. Schlimpertโ€™s 3rd graders explored the difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset, discovering how the way we think can shape our success. ๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒฑ

Weโ€™re so proud of our students and teachers for making Morning Meeting such a meaningful and powerful start to each day! ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒŸ Rock Creek Highlights of the Week! ๐ŸŒŸ

What a week at Rock Creek! Our days have been packed with learning, leadership, and a whole lot of joy! โ˜•๐Ÿ’™

  • The entire Rock Creek staff started the week with coffee treats, thanks to our amazing Wellbeats Crew โ€” who earned the most active physical points in the entire district! Way to lead by example in wellness and teamwork! ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐Ÿ‘

  • Another reason Rock Creek shines: Congratulations to Mrs. Le, our Safety Award Winner for the month! Her attention to detail and care helps keep our building safe and welcoming for everyone. ๐Ÿฆบ๐ŸŒŸ

  • Our Adult Action Teams met this week to continue promoting student leadership opportunities, special events, and school spirit โ€” the heart of what makes Rock Creek such a connected and vibrant community. ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽ‰

  • In classrooms, learning came alive!

    • 5th graders tackled fraction challenges through Vertical Learning Spaces, collaborating and problem-solving like true mathematicians. โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ“

    • 1st graders were captivated by the stories in our new CKLA Amplify ELA curriculum, building literacy skills and imagination at the same time! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ญ

    • 5th graders also learned valuable life lessons from our amazing DARE Officer, Jessica Misuraca, who helps our students make safe and responsible choices. ๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ’ฌ

    • And of course, our art rooms were buzzing with creativity as students expressed themselves through color, design, and imagination. ๐ŸŽจโœจ

Thereโ€™s always something special happening at Rock Creek โ€” a place where students lead, teachers inspire, and learning never stops! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฆ…

Bring your turkeys on Tuesday, November 19th!

Leader in Me Corner:

At Rock Creek, we know that leadership begins with growing ourselves and this week was full of great examples of students and staff living out the 7 Habits! ๐ŸŒŸ

From Morning Meetings focused on conflict resolution and growth mindset, to 5th graders collaborating on challenging math problems, to staff leading the district in wellness with the Wellbeats Challenge... our community continues to shine as leaders in action! ๐Ÿ’ชโ˜•๏ธ

As we approach Parent-Teacher Conferences, weโ€™re reminded that leadership also means being open to growth and feedback. These short meetings are such an important time to celebrate the amazing success and uniqueness of every child and also to partner together on the next steps that help them become the very best version of themselves. ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

Feedback can be tough at times, but itโ€™s one of the most powerful tools for learning and improvement... for students, for staff, and for all of us! I always encourage our team to provide that honest, caring feedback, because thatโ€™s how we continue to make Rock Creek the BEST place to learn and grow. ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you, families, for your partnership and for supporting your children at home, encouraging responsibility, and having those open conversations that build confidence and character. Together, we are raising leaders for life! ๐Ÿ™Œ
