East High League of Leaders Visit MRE

Student Leaders from East High and Mr. Mugrove
Kindergarten Students and High School leader
High school leader and kindergarten students

Students were able to spend time with eight former wolves during lunch Jan. 17 to learn how these students are using the habits in high school. They handed out habit cards that display their extra curricular activity picture, the habit they represent, and a description of how they use their habit to be successful. Students were able to collect the cards and put them in their binders. This is a great time for students to connect with the high school and be motivated to become leaders at the high school so they can come back as leaders to MRE! Our League of Leader students will visit us three more times this year.

A Note from Mr. Musgrove

Third quarter is starting off strong for our Wolves! We were able to celebrate student leaders at our last assembly and announce our Employee and Educator of the Year! Remember to join us for our upcoming events, which connect school to home, along with PTO events for our students to have some fun with our school community. Please pay close attention to what events require a RSVP to attend. I hope to see your family soon!

Trauma Informed Parent Night Flyer

Find out how MRE lays the foundation for students in order for them to be ready to learn academics in the classroom. Trauma Night is not just for parents of kids who have experienced trauma. Trauma Informed Parent Night is an informational night that brings awareness of what trauma really is, and that many of us have actually experienced trauma. We will also share how our school community has laid the foundation for students to be successful in the classroom regardless of what experiences they may have. This is a special opportunity to dive deep into the meaning behind our school mission of Learn, Love, Lead, and Grow.

We do have childcare provided for the evening. The class with the highest percentage of parent attendance will earn an extra recess with Dr. Romanchuk and Mr. Musgrove!

What are our teachers learning this month?

Ms. Heather Kreger, Fort Zumwalt's Elementary Math Curriculum Coordinator, visited our teachers on January's Early Release Day to dive into math standards through Vertical Teaming. Teachers were put into specific teams to explain and demonstrate their grade level standard on a specific skill. Teachers were able to see how each grade level builds the foundation of knowledge for the next grade level. There was great discussion happening around the importance of vocabulary and the meaning of mastery at the different grade levels.

12 student leaders for January

January's Leadership Assembly focused on Habit 3: Put First Things First. These 12 students were recognized by their teachers as leaders in their classroom, specifically living Habit 3! Students also received a letter from Fredbird, explaining how the St. Louis Cardinals live the habits to be successful on and off the baseball field!
