Happy 2026 Everyone -
It's hard to believe we're already a few weeks into second semester! Students are adjusting well to second semester schedule changes. By this time, you should have received an email from your student's counselor to select electives for next school year. Those forms are due by January 30th for all future 7th and 8th graders.
Please take a moment to provide your insights on our school(s). Feel free to complete a survey for each of your Fort Zumwalt students, ages K - 12. Additionally, the Fort Zumwalt printed newsletter is being discontinued, click here and subscribe to receive it digitally.

NJHS is kicking off their food drive on February 23rd, and it will run through February 27th. Each grade is assigned a specific meal with a corresponding list of items to donate to complete the meal. Students will drop off their donations to their first hour teacher. At the end of the drive, we will see how many complete meals we are able to donate per grade. |

If your student struggles with their grades or work completion, we have just the after school opportunity for them! Peer Tutoring takes place on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays after school, from 3:15 to 4:15. The students who will be tutoring are 8th grade NJHS members, all of which have over a 3.5 GPA and little to no discipline record. The tutors were chosen by a few NJHS members, along with the President.
Tutoring will take place in the library or a classroom and will be supervised by a staff member. Your student will meet one-on-one with the same tutor for the full hour every meeting. If you have any questions, please contact Janna Hull, DMS Registrar, at 636-474-3585 during school hours (8:15-3:15). If you are interested in Peer Tutoring for your student, please fill out the Google Form below.

Our habit for January is Seek First to Understand,Then to be Understood. This habit teaches the importance of listening before speaking. It means taking time to truly understand another person’s thoughts, feelings, and point of view before sharing your own. By listening with empathy and an open mind, you show respect and build trust. Once people feel understood, they are more willing to listen to you in return. Practicing Habit 5 helps improve communication, reduce conflicts, and strengthen relationships at school, at home, and in the community.
