Happy April Everyone -
Our First Annual DMS Walk-a-Thon is well underway. We currently have 29% of our students registered and have raised $5,755.00 which is 38% of our $15,000.00 goal. Every student will participate in the walk on May 6th. There is still time to register your student, create their fundraiser page, share to get donations, and collect prizes at school! Visit www.getmovinfundhub.com | School Identifier: 699f23d89e705 to sign up!
MAP testing (schedule below) will begin on April 27th and will continue through mid-May. All grades will be tested in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math (EOC for Algebra I students). Additionally, 8th graders will be tested in Science. Please encourage students to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, and prioritize consistent attendance for the duration of their testing period to produce the best results.
Decisions were emailed on April 14 for all those who submitted an application for National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). Congratulations to those who will be inducted on May 4th at 6pm at DMS.
Next Friday, April 24, three of our teachers, Chris Torretta, Annamarie Phillips & Rick Padgett will perform with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. See details below on how to reserve tickets to Extra Credit: On Stage at Powell.
Lastly, a reminder to current 7th graders; prior to starting 8th grade in the fall, you will need Tdap and meningitis immunizations. Here is the district site on immunization requirements.

Our Leader in Me Habit for March is Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. This habit teaches the importance of taking time to renew and improve yourself. It means balancing and caring for four areas of your life: your body, brain, heart, and spirit. By doing things like exercising, learning new skills, spending time with loved ones, and reflecting or relaxing, you keep yourself healthy and motivated. Regularly “sharpening the saw” helps you stay strong, productive, and ready to handle challenges.
